Job Summary

Takes a leadership role in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education programs/projects related to Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) initiatives for patients and staff throughout MDRH. Serves as the expert and works with the nursing and ancillary staff to implement and ensure the appropriate use of SPHM techniques and equipment/device.   Identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment and prevent patient and staff injury.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree or Licensure in related healthcare field (preferred).  Current BLS (required). Three (3) or more years of previous exp. in direct patient care.  (EMT, CNA, Lift Team, etc.) (required). Safe Patient Handling & Mobility and/or Ergonomic Certification (preferred).  Working knowledge of AB 1136 and other federal, state, and local SPHM regulatory requirements (required).  Knowledge and proficient in the use of health care technology and SPHM equipment/devices (required). Ability to use Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft Office software:  MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc. (required). Exp. in coordinating and managing projects, educating staff, and program development (required). Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support (required).
