Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Quality and Risk Management, has overall responsibility for the management of the Patient Safety and Peer Review Programs.  Develops and implements the patient safety plan and processes and facilitates the education and communication of patient safety across the hospital.  Facilitates peer review activity in collaboration with the Medical Staff Services department. Acts as a resource to senior management, Medical Staff, Nursing, and other Hospital and Health System personnel with regard to patient safety and peer review issues and activities.  In partnership with Department Directors,  is responsible for patient safety. She/he is responsible for assuring that staff can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment. She/he is responsible for conducting continuous hospital-wide safety assessments, implementing and then evaluating safety practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related clinical field (required).     
Master’s Degree in Healthcare related field preferred (MPH, MHA, MBA or MSN).
CPPS or CPHQ preferred or obtained within first year of employment  (required.) Experience:
Min 5 years experience in project management or similar role (required)                                                                                Current California RN or other related clinical license (required)
