Job Summary

The Pharmacist is licensed by the California State Board of Pharmacy.  Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Senior Pharmacist(s), the Pharmacist is responsible for the daily organization and supervision of all drug distribution activities in the hospital, including involvement in clinical endeavors.  Reviews and validates medication orders for safe medication use.  Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel.  Compounds and dispenses prescribed medication and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the related duties. 

Qualifications:  Current Pharmacist certification or licensure in the State of California (required).  One-year Pharmacy experience, preferable institutional, or the completion of a residency in institutional pharmacy practice or a Pharm D degree (preferred). Prior Acute Hospital Experience (required)
