Job Summary

Coordinate and prepare daily assignments of case managers.  Monitor all completed clinical reviews and maintains a running log.  Monitors and endures hospital compliance with Medi- Cal, Medicare and health plans.  Conducts studies and prepares reports for the review committee, medical staff, administration; serves as review committee liaison with other committee’s formulation of policy and procedures.  Compiles a variety of narrative and statistical department reports locating sources of information, develop forms.  Assist with activities related to Outcomes Management.  Exercises frequent independent judgement within agreed upon limitations and knowledge of the hospital’s organization, policies and personnel.

Qualifications

  • Is a motivated, independent individual who can organize the workload so that all functions are completed appropriately.                                 
  • Working knowledge of criteria for Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO and private insurance coverage.
  • 2 0r more year’s case management or discharge planning experience (preferred).

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

●          Basic computer knowledge

●          Understanding of healthcare/HMO industry.
