Proud to be part of the Marina del Rey community

From gorgeous beaches to world-class culture, Southern California has it all.

Maybe you've called the Southern California coast home for your whole life. Maybe you've just moved west and you're discovering how great it is to have year-round sunshine, gorgeous beaches, and world-class culture just outside your door. At Marina Del Rey Hospital, born-and-raised Californians work alongside brand-new arrivals day in and day out, and every one of them has their own reasons for loving it here.

For starters, of course, there's the weather and the region. You have wine country, ski slopes, a huge variety of beaches, the Channel Islands, national parks, and world-renowned arts and cultural institutions within a couple hours' drive. No snow to make the trip difficult, sunshine to make the days warm and pleasant, all year long.

Zooming in on Marina Del Rey, you'll find that it's a very pleasant, convenient place to live and work. If you live in the area, you'll be familiar with the excellent local schools, shopping, and dining that the area has to offer.

Then there's the marina itself, the world's largest man-made harbor for small boats. At the UCLA Marina Aquatic Center, located here, students learn to sail, kayak, windsurf, and perform other water skills. Chace Park, surrounded on three sides by water, has concerts twice a week in the summer months. There are plenty of places to eat, rent marine equipment, and watch the boats go by. If you want information on boating, try the library — the Marina Del Rey branch of the L.A. County Public Library has a nautical collection to help boaters out.

Just south of Marina Del Rey Harbor are the Ballona Wetlands, one of the last major wetlands areas in the Los Angeles area. Several native bird species call the wetlands home, and there is at least one rare type of daisy that grows here.

Outside the immediate Marina Del Rey area are Venice, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu along the coast to the north, and Playa Del Rey and the South Bay going south. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is very conveniently located, and all the amenities of the Westside are just a quick drive inland.

All in all, we're very proud of our location. Marina Del Rey is an ideal place to work, live, and visit — and we think you'll agree with us!
